How often are auctions held?

The Goudwisselkantoor auction house organizes several auctions each year. The auction calendar can be found here. The auctions take place in various forms: most auctions are live auctions. You are welcome to attend these auctions in the auction room, but you can also bid online. We also regularly hold online-only and timed online auctions, in which you can only bid online.

What is the difference between live, online, and timed auctions?

Live auction
A live auction takes place in the auction room, led by an auctioneer. Bids can be placed both in the room and remotely: online, by telephone, or by submitting a written bid in advance. During the auction, you can follow the bidding process in real time from the auction room or via the live stream on our website, and you can respond immediately to other bids. This often adds extra excitement and intensity to the experience. Online-only auction
In an online-only auction, the entire process takes place digitally. Although the auctioneer sells the lots, the entire process takes place online and you cannot bid from the auction room. You can easily place your bids via the website. Timed auction
A timed auction is a variant of the online auction. In this type of auction, each lot automatically expires at a preset time. After the closing time has passed, the highest bid is automatically awarded. If bids are still being placed shortly before closing, the expiration time is automatically extended to give everyone a chance to respond to the bids.
