Provincial coins: Regional coins from the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (1588-1795) and the Southern Netherlands (1581-1795). Provinces minted their own coins with unique designs that reflected their economic independence and regional identity.
Kingdom coins: Coins minted since the establishment of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (1815). In addition to their economic value, these coins represent national identity. They include common currencies such as guilders, but also commemorative coins.
World coins: Coins from all corners of the globe, with an emphasis on Belgium, France, Germany, and Luxembourg. World coins tell unique stories about the culture, politics, and economy of different civilizations.
Medals: Commemorative or honorary objects with rich symbolism, in honor of anniversaries, personal achievements, and historical figures or events. They are sought-after collectibles with no nominal value, but with great cultural and historical significance.

At our coin auction, you have the opportunity to purchase unique and valuable coins at attractive prices. Each coin is carefully checked for authenticity and quality beforehand. Our experts assess the value based on the metal, weight, condition, and rarity of the coin.
The coin is then offered online. Bidding is easy via our auction system. You set your maximum bid and follow the auction live. The highest bidder wins.
This is how our auction works: transparent, secure, and with an eye for quality.

Our auction house has a team of knowledgeable and dedicated coin experts. They combine professional knowledge with a great deal of enthusiasm for everything related to numismatics. As a member of the Dutch Association of Coin Dealers, guaranteeing our expertise and reliability within our field is naturally of paramount importance. How does a coin auction work at Goudwisselkantoor?
Goudwisselkantoor organizes several coin auctions each year, where interested buyers can bid on coins from the catalog. Each item is checked in advance by specialists for authenticity and quality. You can view the items at your leisure in our online catalog and during the viewing days. The auctions take place in various forms: most auctions are live auctions. You are welcome to attend these auctions in the auction room, but you can also bid online. We also regularly hold online-only and timed online auctions, in which you can only bid online.
How can I submit coins for auction?
The experts at Goudwisselkantoor will professionally and without obligation assess whether your valuable items can be auctioned and what proceeds you can expect. Visit one of our 150+ offices for a free, no-obligation appraisal of your item. We discuss the expected proceeds, advise you on the deposit amount, and go through the terms and conditions with you. Once you agree, you leave the item with us and receive a receipt. We treat every item with equal care and store your belongings in a secure and insured storage facility.
Can I view the coins in advance?
That is certainly possible. A few days prior to the auction, we organize viewing days. You are welcome to come and view the items being auctioned in our showroom in Klaaswaal. We like to keep these viewing days accessible: the atmosphere is relaxed and no appointment is necessary. Our experts will personally answer all your questions about the items, as well as about bidding and buying at auction. The dates and times of the viewing days are listed in the auction information for the auction in question.
